Google Friend Connect

I started to use Google Friend Connect. I embedded the gadget on the sidebar. I don't know it is convenient but it seems interesting anyway. If you are interested in Friend Connect, please log in!

To be honest, I don't understand how my blog become a kind of social network and don't know the difference from 'follow this blog' function.

There is a similar service which facebook issued. I will see how both of the services work.

5th infielder

I watched the world series on TV. Both team has a Japanese player. I am neither a fan of Rays nor Phillies, so I was concerned about Iwamura of Rays. What I was surprised was the game started at 10... In Japan, we decide to rain out a baseball game easier than in US. Although I think Japanese are more patient than American, as for baseball, American are more. :)

One more surprising thing was the 5th infielder. At the bottom of 9th inning, Rays deployed the right fielder at the infield in order to prevent a walk-off defeat. I watched such a 5th infielder in high school game twice but it was the first time in the professional game...

Only Yesterday

I took a book from my bookshelf. It is an old book named 'Only Yesterday' by F.L. Allen. The subtitle of the book is 'An informal history of the nineteen twenties'. The nonfiction book shows a lot of aspects of 1920's.

I am interested in what is the great depression in 1929. What kind of age do we live now? We can manage the present economic crisis? They are my questions.

Is New MacBook better?

New MacBook was released. The size and weight of it isn't smaller and lighter... It isn't comfortable to carry my MacBook in my bag during commuting, so I want an 'ultra portable mac'. The design of the new MacBook is simmilar to 'Air'. I like the old style better. I mean my white MacBook. :)

Fly Fly Fly

Hi, there. I flied with the old warplane driven by my friend. It's a nice view. :) Of course, it is a story in Second Life(SL). You can fly without a machine in SL but it is interesting in flying with a machine in the world. I met an 'old' friend in SL after a long separation. She has the plane.

Mini SUV

I heard that Mini SUV would be shown in the Paris motor show. Hm, is it called 'Mini'?!?!
There are some pictures of it on the net. It is not bad but..... Anyway, I love my mini cooper best. :)

Chrome and Lively

I am interested in two google services which have never released the mac OSX version. They are of course a web browser 'chrome' and a metaverse 'lively'. I have used a chrome on my parents' windows PC and felt it was quick and good. As for lively, I installed on it but I couldn't move an avatar smoothly on the old PC... I haven't heard news about lively these days.... What happens to it. Google staffs don't mind the metaverse?!?! 

Today I played a catch with my brother at a primaly school next to my parents' house and then went to a hospital to meet my grand mother. I presented a cute doll which I bought in Slovenia. I was happy because she was pleased with it.

The Vanished Man

I feel autumn has come when orange osmanthus smells around here. I like smell of the flower. It is very sweet.

I bought 'The Vanished Man' by Jeffery Deaver today. Only his book I read is 'Bone collector'. To be honest, the book I bought is a Japanese edition '魔術師'.

New MacBook

I am suffering from a jet rag now.. I didn't sleep last night...but I had to get up at 6 this morning..

It was reported that the new MacBook would be launched next week. If it is a smaller and light one, I want it! Although I appreciate my MacBook, to be honest, it is heavy to carry with a bag...

Is Disqus useful?

A new web service Disqus seems interesting. I tried to install it on my blog once. But I feel its comment system is so complicated for non-Disqus user that I stopped using it. Some comment service may be becoming popular. I knew the service in Friend Feed.

The son of the Nobel prize winner

One more scientist won the Nobel prize Wednesday. Osamu Shimomura won the Nobel chemistry prize for discovery of Green fluorescent protein(GFP). I don't know him but I found a familiar name 'Tsutomu Shimomura' on Wikipedia. Tsutomu who is the son of Osamu Shimomura is a very famous computer expert in US for the book 'Take down'. The story is that he fight for the marvelous hacker with FBI. The book was translated into Japanese and I read(browsed) in a bookstore. :p

The winner Shimomura said that GFP was a kind of a son and was happy to see the son 'succeed'. At first, his real son Tsutomu became popular and then GFP did this time.

Broken Symmetry

Three Japanese scientists won the Nobel Physics Prize Tuesday. One of them has a US nationality.  All of them has been known as a kind of a 'candidate' for a long time. It is the first time that I heard their name when I was in a junior highschool. I liked science, especially, physics at that time. I often read a science magazine 'Newton' for the public, which introduced all of them and their work. But it is very difficult to understand their work. 

To be honest, I don't understand 'Broken Symmetry' of their work well now.... One of them said winning the prize was a kind of a festival. Although here are a lot of bad economy news these days, we are happy to hear good news.

Ishii will fight MMA

I went back to Japan on Saturday.

It was reported, Monday, that Satoshi Ishii who was a Beijing Olympic games Judo gold medalist would become a professional MMA fighter in the near future. I was surprised because I thought he wanted to join London Olympic games...

He cannot fight any Judo match if he become a professional MMA fighter. It is a kind of a strict rule in Japan. Judo is described as armature sports.

I want to watch him get one more gold medal in London but I want to watch him fight with Fedor in the world of  MMA.

What is this? 

I found a cute frog in Bred, Slovenia. The answer is a trash box.

I don't know... Is Slovenia or Bred famous for frog?!?! Please tell me if you know.

The statue in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, was designed by Joze Plecnik, a great Slovenian architect. There are a lot of buildings, bridges and statues there.
